Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. Her name has been widely praised as a pioneer in the field of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory within legal contexts. Professor Goodman has published numerous papers with numerous grants, and has been recognized with numerous national and international distinctions. She has collaborated with numerous organisations and governments throughout the world in research and guidelines pertaining to children who are victims of the justice system. She acts as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of several professional associations including that of Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychological Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). Professor Goodman is an active member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division, American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
